

A GLOBAL NETWORK FOR THE HAZARD MANAGEMENT OF CYANOBACTERIAL
BLOOMS AND TOXINS IN WATER RESOURCES
The management structure of IHP CYANONET would consist of a Steering Committee, including a Convenor and Website Manager. Further members would be responsible for network development from continental level to national and regional level, and for liaison with key organisations. The Steering Committee would include:
Convenor: Prof. Geoffrey A. Codd, University of Dundee, United Kingdom.
Website Manager: Tomasz Jurczak, University of Lodz, International Centre for Ecology, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland.
For Europe and liason with national public health institutes and World Health Organization: Dr. Hans C. Utkilen, National Institute for Public Health, Oslo, Norway, with Prof. G.A. Codd (including Russian Federation).
For Africa: Bill Harding, Southern Waters and University of Cape Town, South Africa (the entire continent).
For North America: Prof. Wayne W. Carmichael, Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, USA (including Hawaii and other US Pacific Islands). Coverage of Central America and Caribbean is to be agreed with Sandra Azevedo.
For Central and South America: Prof. Sandra Azevedo, University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Coverage of Central America and Caribbean is to be agreed with Wayne Carmichael.
For Australasia: Mr. Michael D. Burch, Australian Centre for Water Quality Research, Adelaide, Australia (Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Pacific Islands (other than Japanese and US).
For Asia (Western): Dr. Suvendra N. Bagchi, Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur, India (Turkey and south and east from Turkey, i.e. Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, the other former Soviet Asian republics, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, the Arabian Gulf Kingdoms and States, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan).
